Coyote and the Bear
Coyote and the Bear is the classic story of deception. The small coyote was terrified inside, but on the outside he appeared brave and fearless to the bear. The coyote was able to use the objects around him to mentally manipulate the much larger bear. The bear was much larger, but the coyote had the mental advantage over him and the mental advantage is all the coyote needed to succed. The coyote successfully carried out his plan of manipulating the bear until the bear noticed him jump as he was reaching for something. The coyote's mental edge had been erased at this point. The big, bad bear soon figured out that the coyote was only trying to trick him into believing that he was fearless. The coyote knew his scheme was over and he made a run for it, but the bear had more speed than the coyote assumed. the much larger bear caught the coyote and had himself a meal. In the real world there are many stories of real life coyotes and bears. Smaller people tend to use language and the objects around them to scare bigger people. Sometimes, like in the Coyote and the Bear, the tricks work, but most of the time the bigger person will always figure out that the smaller person is only bluffing.
